Clearing Browser Data in Web Portal

To optimize performance, TGmembership web portals use an advanced caching system to improve loading speeds, reduce bandwidth usage, and enhance overall efficiency for visitors. While these features bring significant advantages, there can occasionally be minor inconveniences—such as not always seeing the most up-to-date information immediately.

In most cases, the cached data updates automatically within a few minutes. However, certain updates might require visitors to manually refresh their browser cache to see the latest changes.

To simplify this, TGmembership includes a Clear Browser Data button on the web portal. This button allows visitors to instantly purge their local cache, ensuring the web portal retrieves the latest data from our servers.

Understanding Caching Layers

The web portal relies on multiple caching layers for efficiency:

  1. Local Browser Cache: Stores data on the visitor's device for faster reloading.
  2. API Cache: The web portal queries data through our API, which has its own caching mechanisms.
  3. Bot Cache: The bot itself caches some data to reduce the number of queries and improve responsiveness.

Some elements, such as the start message, bot information (name, logo, etc.), or terms of service, are rarely updated and use long-term caching. While this significantly reduces unnecessary queries and improves responsiveness, it may lead to delayed updates in these sections.

Using the Clear Browser Data Button

Visitors can easily refresh their local cache by clicking the Clear Browser Data button available at the bottom-right corner of the web portal. It’s important to note:

  • This action only clears local browser cache for the visitor.
  • It does not affect cached data managed by the API or the bot.
  • Any remaining delay typically comes from API caching, which is handled efficiently by our system.

By providing this button, TGmembership ensures a balance between efficiency and user convenience, offering a simple solution for when immediate updates are required.
